© GlintworksYuniCon Trophy 2025 started with a character sheet: three views of a chibi unicorn mascot for YuniCon, the Austrian cosplay convention. Brazen & Bold commissioned us to turn the illustration into a resin master for silicone mold production: 12 trophies for their Tournament of Champions, each 10 cm tall. They handled molding, casting, and finishing. We delivered the digital model and master prints.
We poly-modelled the figure in Blender, split into body and tail for clean parting lines and simpler mold geometry. Chibi proportions work better with subdivision modelling, not freehand sculpting: the style depends on precise geometric relationships and smooth surfaces. Hollowing the body in Blender produced non-manifold geometry, so we moved that step to Houdini. There, we eroded the mesh to wall thickness via VDB and fused the result into a clean, printable solid.
Brazen & Bold cast 12 copies, added hand-sculpted clay bases, and finished each piece in metallic gold with an engraved nameplate. The trophies were displayed in a glass case at YuniCon alongside the Tournament of Champions belt.
